Tiny Tap App

Tiny Tap is a free app for your iDevice that is available here from iTunes. Even though it is geared towards younger learners, I could see many opportunities for linguists of all ages to have fun with this app. For example, older learners could create games for younger learners!

Basically, you create or upload images and then you can narrate the images and/or create a game about the images. Check it out here and also visit here for an example of a higher level game! The Tiny Tap website is also a great place for more information.

I have had quite some fun with this app using my friend @Jeannedelalune's images and my very best French accent! Check out my first game with Tiny Tap here and check out my friend's animations (the inspiration) here!

Welcome to Acquisition Abounds!

Hi! My name is Audrey Misiano and this is my new blog! My good, friend +Sylvia Duckworth, recommended that I try out Blogger, so here I am!

This blog will be a space for me to share my adventure in transitioning from language "learning" to language "acquisition"! To read more formally about this shift, please visit this post: "Language Shift: From Learning to Acquisition". To see more about me, visit my splash page here.

I will write about what is happening in my classroom as well as at home with my children whom I am raising bilingually in French/English. I am attempting this in my non-native French with a monolingual husband in a very monolingual town.

This year I'll be teaching French 1 and Exploratory Language (French and Spanish) to seventh and eighth graders.

Feel free to email me with questions or comments or ideas!

Please stay tuned for more and have a wonderful day! :)
